how to MAKE A SALE

Let’s talk about how I share a bundle — start to finish.
No pressure. No pushy sales tactics. Just real conversations with real people about stuff I genuinely love. Here’s my simple process — I’ll list out the steps first and then we’ll dig in.

Step 1: I share my life

I post something in my Facebook stories about using oils — or I just use them in real life! Whether I’m diffusing oils, pulling one out of my bag, or answering someone’s “What do you use for headaches?” — I naturally bring them up. No agenda, just real life.

Step 2: Someone comments? I chat back — like a normal human

If someone comments on my post, I always reply directly in a new comment (not by hitting “reply” under their comment). I tag them, answer their question, and keep it friendly. Something like, “I’ll shoot you a message!” — and then I do just that.

Step 3: Private Message or Text Time

Now, this is key: when I message someone, I’m not trying to be some robot following a script. This isn’t a telemarketer job — it’s just me, talking to a friend about something I love.

You can totally tweak what you say to sound like YOU. Your people want your voice, your story, your vibe. Here’s a starting place:

Example Message:

“Hey girl! Have you used oils before?”

If she says:

“Yeah, I have insert random cheap oil brand, but I don’t really use them much. I wasn’t sure how.”

Then I might say:

“Totally get that! I got into oils when my boys were little and seemed to be sick all the time. I needed something to support their health and keep us all functioning (aka missing less work and sleep!). I chose Young Living because of their Seed to Seal promise — they literally oversee every single step, so I feel safe using them in all the ways (skin, diffuser, even internally). Now, they’re kind of our go-to for everything — we’ve basically replaced our medicine cabinet! What are you hoping to use oils for?”

See what I did there? Not salesy. Not scripted. Just a back-and-forth convo. From there, I just keep chatting! If she needs better sleep? I tell her what works for us. Sore muscles? I’m pulling out the Panaway recs.

Step 4: She’s ready to get started — YAY!

This is the fun part. If she’s ready to jump in, I send her either my referral link or a custom bundle I made on my Wishlist page.

If she’s asking which oils to grab, I usually suggest the Starter Bundle. It’s the best bang for your buck and has all the staples.

“Okay, girl, if you want to dive in, I’d totally grab the starter kit. It’s $165 and you get a diffuser, 12 oils that you’ll actually use for all the things, samples of Ningxia (an antioxidant drink we love), plus Thieves Spray and Hand Sanitizer for on-the-go. It’s how almost everyone starts!”

But if she’s only eyeing a few oils, I help her compare:

“Alright, you want Lavender, Panaway, and Peppermint? Let me price that out for you…”

Step 5: Do the math for them

“Okay, so if I grab you Lavender, Panaway, and Peppermint with my discount, it’s $80.25 plus tax/shipping. But honestly, for $165 you get all three of those PLUS nine other oils, a diffuser (which I use every single day), and a ton of extras. The Starter Bundle is worth over $320 if you bought it all separately, so it’s kind of a no-brainer.”

Boom. Real info, easy math, no pressure.

Step 6: I send the link + ordering tips

I also share a few helpful notes:

“I always recommend checking out as a Loyalty Rewards order. If you do, YL gives you $20 back in store credit (like points to use next time). It’s also the best way to slowly swap out the stuff you’re already buying — things like hand soap, vitamins, cleaner, and toothpaste.

Don’t need anything next month? No biggie. Just cancel it. But if you do want to keep going, I love recommending Thieves cleaner, Valor, Super B, or more Ningxia for your next order.”

Then I remind them to let me know when they’ve ordered so I can:

  • Add them to our education group, The Library on Facebook
  • Send out a Welcome Bag with goodies to help them get started
  • Email some tips and tricks so they’re not overwhelmed

Step 7: You made a sale! Now what?

First of all, CELEBRATE! This is so exciting! But remember — this isn’t the finish line, it’s just the beginning. Your new oil friend is trusting you to walk with them as they learn. Keep showing up, keep checking in, and keep being your awesome, encouraging self. Here are some NEXT STEPS for you!

That’s it. Simple. Real. And totally doable.
